In 2005, I had the pleasure of taking six photographers on a journey through northern Italy.  Below is a testimonial from one of them:

A digital stroll through Italy with Tom Deininger, was
the title of an e-mail I received back in May of 2005.
I was curious about this e-mail so I checked it out
and thought to myself,  that would be a wonderful trip
to take.
To go with a group of photographers into
Italy and
travel around the different regions capturing the
beauty and culture of each area. It sounded exciting
and adventurous, I had to do it! So I e-mailed Tom
back informing him that I was very interested in his
digital tour.  The different places he had picked out
to explore and visit were places I had heard about and
thought would be exciting to visit and photograph
(Rome, Tuscany, Florence, Venice).
Before you knew it, it was time to fly into
Rome. The
adventure was about to begin.

We all met up with each other at the airport and piled
into the van Tom had rented for our journey. We headed
into
Rome for an afternoon of roman sites and culture.
Tom gave a tour of
Rome that got our excitement going
and creative juices flowing. We couldn't believe what
we were seeing! The incredible architecture of the old
world. It was like stepping back into time. Tuscany
was our  next stop; heading up north to the wine and
olive country was like driving through a painting, a
painting from the 15th century. The beauty of the
country side with it's grand villas and medieval towns
was remarkable. The photo op was endless. Tom was very
good at letting us stop and photograph what we wanted,
but kept us going to our next destination. Florence,
the center of old world culture. Still another amazing
place with it's old world history and architecture. I
enjoyed seeing and photographing the sunset on the
Arno river. Now we all have had a good taste of Italy!
Our next destination the
Italian Riviera, Camogli /
Cinque Terre. Small quaint fishing villages on the
coast. How beautiful !  So unique and cozy. The coast
is always a beautiful place no matter what country
you're in. I could have stayed here for days enjoying
the view and the people. Some day I will return to
this area. Every place we've been to, now has had some
wonderful photo opportunity! Everyone unique and different
in its own way. I was so excited with the images I was
getting I couldn't wait to view them with family and
friends. Now for the most Incredible place of all.
VENICE.
What an amazing place. A city on the water. The
bridges, the water taxis and of course the gondola's.
I think I took most of my images here. It was an
endless photo op!
The architecture, the shops, the boats, the people.  I
still couldn't believe my eyes. It was like being in a
painting again. I definitely will return to Venice.

This trip was one fabulous adventure. I saw and  photographed some of the most
amazing places on earth. Tom sure picked some
wonderful places to visit. I would highly recommend
anyone to take a tour with Tom Deininger, especially
to
Italy.  He made this trip exciting, fun, and
adventures. He was very accommodating to all of our
needs. He taught us a lot about traveling around
Italy. I enjoyed every moment of this trip. I
especially enjoyed meeting and sharing this adventure
with the other photographers. We all got along and
enjoyed each others company so much. To see and share
this trip with other  photographers was quite a
bonding experience. I will always feel close and
connected with these photographers. I feel I have made
friends for life.  Tom's love for photography and
Italy has touched my life for ever. Taking this tour
was the best thing I have done for myself
in a long time. Hopefully you too can experience an
adventurous exciting, photo tour with Tom. You will
not regret it.  Thank you Tom,  thank you for sharing
one of your passions with us. I will cherish this trip
forever!!!
